Vision & Mission of the Parish

We the people of St. Augustine Parish are called to become what we receive: the Living Body of Christ through worship, discipleship, community, ministry, and outreach.

Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are inspired to be a welcoming, Catholic community in New City, New York. We are drawn together by our love of Christ as the center of our individual lives, families, and community. We commit ourselves to be a sign of God's presence to each other and to the world around us through prayer, education, outreach, and service.

We build the kingdom of God by:

• Living our Catholic faith and nurturing its growth through regular Sunday worship
• Fostering discipleship in the lives of young children and mature adults
• Living the life of God in the community through faith sharing
• Serving one another as Christ served us
• Working in partnership with individuals, neighboring churches, and community service to others

• We center our lives on Eucharistic Worship
• We follow Jesus Christ as a way of life and invite others to join us
• We are rooted in Catholic teaching and tradition through our deeds, words, and actions
• We promote faith formation as an ongoing, lifelong process
• We model the scriptural ideas of discipleship, community, and hospitality and are dedicated to outreach to the poor
• We are committed to personal and community spiritual growth
• We strive to be a vibrant and welcoming presence to all regardless of age, race, or creed
