We are looking for coaches to volunteer their time to coach teams. Male and female coaches are needed to train the players and teach them about sportsmanship, teamwork, hard work and the CYO way. All CYO volunteers undergo "Safer Spaces" training and a complete background check as mandated by the Archdiocese of New York. If you are interested in being a coach please email the Coordinator of CYO Basketball.

CYO is the Catholic Youth Organization of the Archdiocese of New York. It promotes a basketball sports program in the parish which provides opportunities for students in grades 3 through 8 to join in this healthy and exciting sport. Second-grade girls and boys may participate in the Basketball Clinic where they learn the fundamentals of the sport. Grades 3 through 8 practice weekly and compete in basketball games with other parish teams in the county. This is a competitive league.
Practice sessions are held Monday through Friday in the school gymnasium and in other gyms in Clarkstown, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Competitive games are played throughout Rockland County on weekends once the season begins.
The most important lesson CYO seeks to achieve is to teach the students how to respect the game, their teammates, the competition, the officials, and the people in attendance. Coaches also serve as team role models in showing the proper manners of sportsmanship and fair play.
This program has fee-related expenses and requires an application and a medical form must be completed for enrollment.
